David Pierce, MD, receives 2007 ACEP Scientific Assembly CPC National Award

Dr. David Pierce, MD, and Kayla Lacayo, MD, winners of CPC National Award
David Pierce, MD, SUNY at Buffalo attending physician, won the National Emergency Medicine CPC Competition at the ACEP Scientifc Assembly in October 2007 for his discussion of a case on ectopic pregnancy after a total hysterectomy. The diagnosis was ruptured ectopic pregnancy shortly after having a total vaginal hysterectomy.

This competition presented the final round of cases and discussions from the winners of the regional competitions held at the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Annual Meeting in May 2007, where six out of sixty selected for presentation are selected for the final competition at ACEP.
