Jeanne Basior, MD

Jeanne Basior, MD
Assistant Residency Director, Department of Emergency Medicine
Associate Clinical Director, Emergency Department, Buffalo General Hospital

Birthplace: Buffalo, New York
College: Georgetown University
Medical School: Georgetown University
Residency: Combined Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine, Northwestern University
Board Certification: American Board of Emergency Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

Medical/Research Interests: Quality improvement/medical errors, asthma, observation medicine, acute coronary syndrome, geriatric emergency medicine

Personal Interests: Family, gardening, jogging, piano

About the Residency: The program provides a wealth of clinical pathology in a variety of practice settings. There are opportunities to develop expertise in diverse areas such as cardiac stress testing, trauma airway, EMS, and bedside ultrasound, etc. that exceed those available in most other programs.

About Buffalo: Buffalo's geographic setting on the Great Lakes at a major international gateway contributes to the wealth of cultural, recreational, and lifestyle alternatives that help define the areas unique character. After spending many years in the much larger, better known Chicago area, I had some misgivings when I relocated for professional and family reasons. It turned out to be a good decision. Buffalo is a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Editor's Note: When I became ill at work, I asked for Dr. Basior. This indicates the very high regard I have for her professional skills. Jeanne is a consummate clinician, a tireless contributor to the residency, and a devoted mother.
