While the Residency in Emergency Medicine prepares physicians for the
clinical practice of emergency medicine, there is certainly time for residents to get out, socialize and have some fun! In fact, the program encourages residents to spend time getting to know each other, forming lasting friendships and memories.

Emergency Medicine Resident Graduation Party
Graduating residents are subject to a roast by the program director or 'roastmaster', all in good fun, surrounded by well-wishers, and complete with awards, dinner, and dancing!! The yearly event takes place in an elegant restaurant complete with an outdoor patio and dance floor. The atmosphere is fun, friendly, and memorable as these pictures indicate.

Emergency Medicine Resident Picnic
Dr. Braen, Chair of the Emergency Department, hosts the annual welcome picnic at the Clarksburg Club in Eden, NY. This gives the interns the opportunity to get to know each other and meet others in the program. The other residents and faculty also get a chance to meet the new residents and socialize, relax, and play some tennis or go for a swim.
